What is Cogmed training?

Training of working visual memory Cogmed is training conducted on-line / at home on your own computer / in case of problems with weaker working memory, attention, concentration.

Cogmed combines neurological knowledge of cognitive processes with innovatively developed tasks - computer games and professional support - developing results obtained by the program participant. They are visible every day after the next program exercises. The results obtained are compared to the average for the age group to which the exerciser belongs.

With the help of the Cogmed trainer and support in the program itself, you will improve your COGMED capabilities: attention, concentration, direct working memory capacity, behavior and learning opportunities.

Cogmed is a computer program for three age groups:

for adults, for children and adolescents 7-17 years, children 5-7 years old

available through individual ID implemented as part of stimulation by the Cogmed - Paersen Coachs method of certified trainers

Work in the program is documented and you can see your results after each day of exercise.

After work, we compare the results obtained with the average - expected for the age group and analyze the progress made. Each participant completing the program receives a COGMED CERTIFICATE.
Working in the program is a challenge to exceed your current capabilities in the field of direct working memory capacity, attention exercises, concentration but also great fun, stimulating development, computer game.

Whom is it dedicated to?

Working memory is the ability to keep information in mind for a short time - the time it takes to complete a task, the ability to focus on the task, remembering the next steps, stages of the task.
Research invariably shows that attention and learning problems are often caused by poor working memory. This turns out to be true for people with ADHD, learning disabilities / dyslexia /, milder forms of learning disabilities, problems with attention and concentration.

The Cogmend program is intended for anyone who wants to improve their working memory. Trenign can have a good effect especially with:

easy distraction
problems completing the task,
following the instructions
reading problems, understanding the content
mathematical difficulties despite motivation and hard work

What might be a result of the training?

Continuous observation provided Cogmed researchers with information that the training effects for 25% of users are subtle just after training. The improvements seen in the measured results of the program can be very obvious, but the transfer of effects to other spheres, such as reading comprehension skills and mathematical skills, can take several months before it appears and will be evidently noticeable. In addition, it may take some time to measure the effects of the transfer.

Observation also taught that many users are still developing / making progress / in the sphere of various skills related to working memory up to one year after training. Therefore, it is very important to measure the concentration and intensity of progress in various areas of working memory. In addition, continue to measure behavior that is associated with the ability to focus, e.g. acquiring new information or controlling impulsiveness.
