IAS - for whom?

IAS is intended for children, adolescents and adults in the case of:

auditory processing disorders
delayed speech development
problems with the correct spelling and reading resulting from auditory processing disorders
auditory processing and concentration disorders, especially when there are many stimuli that make it difficult to understand and distinguish background sounds
autism
hearing
stroke
auditory hypersensitivity
tinnitus

Causes and effects of APD

Auditory processing problems can result from:

frequent otitis media
a small amount of listening experience due to too loud surroundings or low speaking ability
general speech development delay

Consequences:

poor ability to keep attention focused on oral statements
sensitivity to some sounds
lack of understanding of oral statements
confusing similarly sounding sounds or sounds
Incorrect spelling
quiet and monotonous way of speaking
incorrect articulation

The process of diagnosis and therapy

Diagnosis in Jansen's Individual Hearing Stimulation is based on tonal audiometry and dichotic tests - aspects of proper auditory processing that are important for the learning process.

The therapeutic program in the form of individually filtered instrumental music is recorded on CDs. The child receives the CD home and listens through headphones for 10 minutes every day. Progress of therapy is monitored every 6 - 20 weeks, each time a child receives a new CD with a therapeutic program specially prepared for him. The stimulation program lasts about 10-16 months.

How to individualise the program?

Frequency: the therapeutic program in the form of individually filtered instrumental music is recorded on CDs. Specially composed music allows you to process each frequency separately for each ear.
Hemispheric stimulation: lateral auditory processing is also taken into account when preparing individual stimulation. By listening to music, it positively affects the cooperation between auditorium centers in both hemispheres, and thus strives to improve the processing of auditory stimuli
Music: through music, we precisely stimulate auditory processing and speech understanding as well as its processing.
